It’s our goal to get to know each of our clients and their pets personally. We keep a small staff with very little turnover so that you can develop long lasting relationships and strong communication with every staff member in our clinic. Our regular appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes so that we can each take the time to address your questions and concerns.
Dr. Claudia Meyers, Owner
Dr. Meyers graduated with her DVM from Cornell in 1981. She is the practice’s main orthopedic veterinarian and surgeon. Outside of work she enjoys many outdoor activities and exciting travel adventures. One of her more recent adventures included ascending Mt. Ranier.
Dr. Kate Washabaugh, Owner
Dr. Washabaugh earned her DVM from the University of Wisconsin in 2007 after working as a non-vet in the practice for several years. Outside of work she has fun running after her young children. When she can, she likes to play outside (with and without them).
Dr. Rheba Zimmerman, Associate
Dr. Zimmerman’s DVM degree was awarded from the University of Wisconsin in 2016. Before returning to school to become a veterinarian, she taught in the sciences, including veterinary science. She is a passionate Wisconsin Badger fan, attending as many events as possible with her husband and young son, is a national tournament golfer (formerly the #1 golfer on the UW’s golf team), and is a professional clown!
Katie Tschanz, Certified Veterinary Technician
Katie joined the practice in 2007. She DJs in her spare time and also enjoys horseback riding and spending time with her husband in the outdoors. Her little red lab, Ruby, keeps her busy learning how to hunt (and chasing her down after escapes through the neighborhood!) and her lab Lady keeps her cozy on cold cabin nights.
Melissa Crook, Certified Veterinary Technician
Melissa joined the practice in 2010. She enjoys spending time outside with her husband and daughter Lily when not working hard at the clinic. She is also the lucky mommy of Catticus, the beautiful Ragdoll kitten many of you fell for when he stayed with us at the clinic. And a goofy lab named Stout.
Julie Jerdee, Certified Veterinary Technician
Julie joined us in early 2015 and fit right into our ABA family. She shares a life in the country with Mike and her four legged kids including quarter horses Scooter & Josie, miniature horse Tucker, pygmy goat Dewey, yellow lab Gracie, and cats Freddie & Stella (a polydactyl princess). She has three adult kids, Ben (daughter-in-law, Kathryn), Britta & Bubba. She’s a lifelong animal lover and graduated with honors in December 2014, from Globe University.
Chris Evers, Certified Veterinary Technician
Chris joined A Breed Apart in 2005. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and building lasting memories with her kids Brody and Ella with her husband. They share their home Jack the Cat, a wonderful cat friend.
Pam Gabriel, Veterinary Assistant
Pam Gabriel joined A Breed Apart in November of 2016 and helps us out on a part time basis. In her free time, she crochets, draws, and lifts weights. She has a very talkative Maine Coon named Walter, and a Tarantula named Ana.
Natasha Ketchum, Office Assistant
Natasha joined the A Breed Apart Team in May of 2013. Before joining us, she completed Lab Animal Caretaker Certificate Program, and earned a Basic Medical Office Reception Certificate in December 2012. She keeps the clinic clean and organized and adds cheer to our week. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her kitty, Chloe.
